In today’s world, almost everyone owns a few digital devices, and with the rise of fast charging, manufacturers are making chargers larger and larger. As a result, chargers are starting to monopolize power strips, and carrying a bunch of chargers when going out can be quite cumbersome. The advent of GaN multi-port chargers has effectively addressed this issue. The Nubia RedMagic DAO 120W Four-ports GaN5 Pro Charger can simultaneously fast-charge four devices while occupying only one outlet. This means no more fighting for sockets and a more convenient experience when traveling. Let’s take a closer look at the actual performance of this device.

The Dione Energy Block series currently offers 65W, 100W, and 120W models to choose from based on your needs. The 120W version has a fairly simple design with “120W” and “Dione” markings for decoration.

Thanks to the fifth-generation GaN technology used, this charger is compact, measuring 37x58x31mm and weighing around 240 grams. It’s roughly the size of a credit card, which is not much larger than a traditional 100W charger, but it includes four charging ports. Its plug features a folding design, making it more convenient to carry.

For optimal performance when charging multiple devices simultaneously, it’s best to use C1 for Android or laptops, and C3 and the USB-A port for Apple devices. This setup maximizes efficiency.

Regarding supported charging protocols, this charger is compatible with mainstream PD3.0/PD2.0/PPS/QC3.0/QC2.0/FCPSCP/AFC/PE/APPLE24/BC12, meaning it can fast-charge most digital products on the market.

Additionally, the C1 port’s power and protocol testing shows a peak output of 100W, confirming that the specifications are accurate.

When charging a Honor laptop, which supports mainstream PD protocols, the Dione Energy Block 120W GaN can reach speeds of around 55W. With the laptop’s battery sufficiently charged, the speed remains around 43W, which is quite good. Charging the Honor 90 Pro also indicates super-fast charging.

Finally, safety and heat issues are addressed. Modern phones can cause the charger to heat up significantly when fast-charging. The Dione Energy Block 120W GaN features upgraded Eddicent 2.0 cooling technology, keeping the temperature around 31 degrees Celsius after 10 minutes of charging, which is surprisingly cool. For safety, it is equipped with ten layers of protection to handle various unexpected situations effectively.
