Nubia's gaming brand, RedMagic, has partnered with the popular mobile game "Honor of Kings" to release a customized version of the Cooler 5 Pro featuring four beloved characters: Sun Wukong, Sun Shangxiang, Gongsun Li, and Li Bai. These two products are designed based on mech skins, aligning with RedMagic's hardcore gaming brand style. Below, we provide a detailed breakdown of this co-branded new product to explore its design details.

Unboxing the RedMagic Sun Wukong Custom Cooler 5 Pro

The packaging box maintains a silver tone design, but as a co-branded custom edition, it features "Honor of Kings" and logo elements on the front.

The back of the box displays the product name, model, and manufacturer information.

A close-up of the back of the packaging reveals that the product comes in a gold and red color scheme and has passed CE certification.

Inside the package, you'll find the RedMagic Cooler 5 Pro, a data cable, a magnetic sheet, a cleaning wipe, and a user manual.

The magnetic sheet is designed with Sun Wukong's character name and the "Zero Flame" mech skin avatar, with a red theme highlighting the intense competitive atmosphere.

The included data cable is a USB-C to USB-C cable, meeting current mainstream standards. It can not only power the cooler but also charge phones and other devices.

The cable length is measured at approximately 107 cm.

The RedMagic Sun Wukong Custom Cooler 5 Pro integrates gold and red elements from Sun Wukong's "Zero Flame" mech skin into the existing hardcore transparent design of the RedMagic DaoFeng series, enhancing its premium feel and appearance.

The transparent top shell design allows visibility of the internal chip, emphasizing its hardcore nature. As a co-branded edition, it also includes some unique design elements.

The edge of the top surface features "Sun Wukong" in a mech-style font, maximizing the hardcore detailing.

The turbine-style casing around the fan area, combined with the red color scheme, gives a powerful impact. The center decoration is adjusted to a gold color that matches the skin, and it also features the "Zero Flame" skin avatar texture.

Disassembly of the RedMagic Sun Wukong Custom Cooler 5 Pro

After reviewing the unboxing and display of the Sun Wukong Custom Cooler 5 Pro co-launched by RedMagic and "Honor of Kings," let's proceed with the disassembly to explore the internal craftsmanship and materials.

Peel off the thermal pad on the back of the RedMagic Sun Wukong Custom Cooler 5 Pro.

The inner side of the thermal pad is designed with copper foil, while the corresponding cooling area is filled with light blue thermal gel for better heat dissipation.

Underneath the thermal pad is the TEC cooling chip, surrounded by magnets for phone attachment, with screws fixed at the four corners of the casing.

Both sides of the cooling chip are coated with thermal paste, which is adhered to the VC liquid cooling plate below.

Remove the screws to separate the main body casing.

The internal PCB board is fixed to the positioning frame with screws on both sides, with a hollowed-out center corresponding to the fan area.

The cooling chip and PCB board are connected via soldered wires.

The fan is connected to the PCB board via wires, designed for plug-and-play.

The left side below has a step-down circuit for powering the cooling chip, while the right side features a PD power extraction chip. The back of the board includes the power switch, fan socket, and USB-C female port.

The USB-C female port is fixed with through-hole soldering, with a black tongue piece that doesn't expose copper.

The PD power extraction chip is from Hynetek, model HUSB238, a highly integrated USB PD decoy chip. It supports up to 100W rated power transmission and is compatible with PD3.0 V1.3 and Type-C V1.4. The HUSB238 is USB-IF certified, TID3666, and can use a universal PD adapter instead of a traditional DC power supply.

A TVS diode with silk screen T15 is used for overvoltage protection.

The main control chip is from Yichip, model YC1059-F, integrating Bluetooth 3.0BR+5.0BLE+2.4G proprietary protocol. The chip supports a 1.8-5.5V supply voltage, has a built-in single-core 32-bit core with 80KB ROM and 8KB RAM, supports multiple interfaces and GPIOs, and comes in an SOP16L package.

The half-bridge chip is from Natlinear, model LN8364, a half-bridge MOS driver chip used for stepping down to power the cooling chip, in a PDFN5*6-8L package.

The cooler uses a 7-blade fan with an optimized air duct design, maintaining low noise operation at 35dB even with high power.

RedMagic's DaoFeng series products have always adhered to a transparent mech style in design. This time, in collaboration with "Honor of Kings," they launched the Cooler 5 Pro featuring the ultra-popular characters Sun Wukong and Sun Shangxiang. The exterior design based on the two characters' mech skins is well-coordinated with RedMagic's brand design philosophy. The Sun Wukong version exudes power and prestige, while the Sun Shangxiang version combines hardcore elements with a soft, girlish charm.

Returning to the product itself, the cooler features a magnetic design that frees up the user's hands, allowing them to focus more on the game. The airflow is humanely designed to blow up and down, avoiding hot air being blown onto the hands. The cooler is equipped with a custom semiconductor cooling chip and a 7-blade fan, capable of running at a stable 25W power or 36W peak power, providing strong cooling while ensuring low noise.

The product supports magnetic cooling for iPhone 12-15 series phones. For phones that don't support magnetic cooling, RedMagic has thoughtfully designed corresponding clip components (sold separately), allowing it to transform into a back clip cooler, compatible with both iPhones and Android phones. The cooler features colorful RGB lighting effects, which can be set through the app, maximizing both aesthetics and user experience.

Through the disassembly, we learned that the RedMagic liquid cooling Cooler 5 Pro has a built-in 36x36mm large-area semiconductor cooling chip and VC liquid cooling plate, which can quickly absorb the phone's heat and dissipate it through the fan. Internally, it uses a Hynetek HUSB238 power extraction chip for PD power input, a Yichip YC1059-F for Bluetooth connection, light control, and cooling control, and a Natlinear LN8364 half-bridge MOS for driving the cooling chip, with a compact overall design.
